A unique approach to treatment
Our clients tell us they love Wellspring Holistic - not only because of the quality of the treatment and the serene atmosphere - but also because our approach to treatment is so different to that of many other massage therapists.
Consultation
We will ask you - confidentially - about any health conditions you have.
We will ask you about the pain, discomfort or any other reasons why you chose to come to Wellspring Holistic.
Causes of pain and muscular tension can be complex and can have their origins in injury, postural issues and even emotional trauma.
Rather than just treating the symptoms, we always try to establish what might be the root cause of the pain. We consider this to be part of our holistic approach.
We believe a proper consultation is very important.
This is so that we can learn more about you and treat you safely.
2. Treatment
Throughout your treatment, we pay attention to details.
For us, how you feel is as important as how you are treated.
We warm up muscles before trying to break down knots.
We will always check in to make sure the pressure is enough for you but not too much.
We usually play music gently in the background. We use aroma, light and temperature.
You are welcome to talk during your treatment or stay quiet if you prefer. Many of our clients fall asleep!
3. After care
At the end of your treatment, we allow you some time to rest. If you have been sleeping, this is your chance to wake up gently.
You will have time to talk about how the massage felt. We will let you know what we did and why, and let you know about any effects you are likely to feel afterwards in the following days.
We may suggest a treatment plan if it has not been possible to resolve your issue in one session.
4. Follow-Up
We always follow up with an email in the days following your first session. This is different for every person.
It will include information about your condition, suggestions for exercises you can do to help improve things between visits and sometimes suggestions for changes you can make in your environment to prevent the condition getting worse.
If you are suffering from an unusual problem, we take the time to research that issue and then apply that knowledge in future sessions.
If we ever discover an issue that needs the attention of a medical professional or a skeletal specialist, we will encourage you to refer yourself for treatment.
